Important Empire Commode in walnut – black marble – 19th century. An important Empire period commode in walnut featuring three large drawers at the front. The decoration highlights a superb symmetrical flamed grain typical of early 19th-century furniture. It features beautiful detached columns at the front with gilded bronze rings, as well as ring handles adorned with lion heads in bronze. The top is crowned with an elegant grey-veined black marble, adding a lot of character to the whole piece. The sober and structured lines of this commode perfectly illustrate the Empire style with its powerful and balanced volumes. Dimensions: Width: 130 cm. Height: 90 cm. Depth: 56 cm.
