This 25 cm ceramic bowl in mid-century style by French artist Yvonne Gisclard-Cau immediately catches the eye. The light powdery blue background, subtly speckled like a natural eggshell, serves as a backdrop for a rich dark blue abstract pattern that is both organic and decidedly modern. A forest green halo discreetly surrounds the design, adding depth and dimension without being intrusive. This shallow bowl possesses the undeniable charm of mid-century style: clean lines, bold colours, and a refined yet playful appearance. It can serve as a functional bowl, a decorative centrepiece, or enhance a ceramics collection. Found in Leiden, Netherlands. Condition: Excellent original vintage condition, with no damage. Weight: 440 grams. Artist: Yvonne Gisclard-Cau (1902-1990), French sculptor and ceramicist, winner of the Grand Prix National of the Union of Women Painters and Sculptors in 1950.
