Very elegant antique wooden work table, attributed to the Simon-Vivenot factory, active in Ligny-en-Barrois and Paris in the early 20th century. The top opens to reveal a beautiful compartmentalised storage space as well as an integrated mirror under the lid. Two drawers at the front and two lower shelves complete this particularly refined piece of furniture. The upper part locks, with the key present. The turned and fluted legs, the cutouts of the furniture, and the veneer patterns give it a lot of elegance. The last photo in the listing is a documentary photo found during our research, showing the label of the Grande Manufacture d’Ameublements de l’Est – Anciens Établissements Simon-Vivenot on a work table identical to ours. However, our example no longer has this label, which is why we present it as attributed to Simon-Vivenot. The work table is in very good general condition considering its age. Some signs of wear are visible on the top as well as under the lower shelf. There are a few old small woodworm holes; the furniture has been treated and is sound. A very lovely antique piece, as decorative as it is functional, which can today be used as a work table, small dressing table, or side table. Dimensions: L 58 × D 40 × H 74 cm Period: early 20th century Attribution: Simon-Vivenot, France
