Charming antique English dressing table in solid mahogany, dating from the 19th century, with an elegant compact size but remarkably crafted in every detail. Resting on small original castors, this carved mahogany dressing table can also be used as a console, small desk, or refined accent piece. Its side supports with twisted columns, connected by a turned crossbar serving as a footrest, create a silhouette inspired by English neo-Gothic architecture. The top is crowned with a superb black Marquina marble, slightly recessed in the centre with a raised edge, both elegant and practical for placing jewellery, perfume, or accessories. The central part features a large drawer with its original functional key, divided into three interior compartments. The upper section offers three additional small drawers, perfect for organising jewellery, mail, or small precious items. The tilting mirror retains its antique mercury glass, framed by a richly carved octagonal mahogany mount. The supports of the mirror are adorned with twisted columns topped with delicate finials. The back is also well-finished, in solid mahogany, allowing this piece to be placed in the centre of a room. The reverse of the mirror is dressed in elegant Florentine paper. A rare piece, both functional and decorative. What makes this furniture particularly appealing is the balance between its compact format and the remarkable sophistication of its craftsmanship. A refined and atypical piece of furniture from the late 19th century, combining functionality and sculptural presence. Dimensions: Width: 84 cm; Depth: 48 cm; Total height: 138 cm; Height of the top: 75 cm. Condition: Very good condition, with slight signs of wear consistent with its age, its original patina, and the warmth of the colour and grain of the wood.
