Pair of Adan Fetishes on Bases - Ghana, African Tribal Ethnic Art

Pair of Aklama altar fetishes, from the Ada Adan ethnic group. Patina of use and natural pigments. Total height on wooden bases: 25, 5 and 25 cms. Bibliography; "Aklama, helping spirits of the Ewe and Dangme people from the study collection of Horst Antes". These "Aklama" fetishes are ritual objects of the voodoo cult used by the Adangbe / Ada speaking Ewe of Ghana, on the border with Togo. These statuettes represent the various deities linked to hunting, which are also common to the Yoruba and Ewe.
