Papua New Guinea Wooden Mask - Yena

Rare carved wooden mask purchased at the Artifact Gallery - Oceanian Tribal Art several years ago. This is a Yena cult figure, celebrating harvests and the planting of yams. In very good overall condition, as purchased. Made of painted wood, on a wrought iron base (base as is). Height 65 m. Maximum width: approximately 14 cm. Weight: approximately 1.2 kg.
