This extraordinary vase lamp, newly assembled, has been upcycled from an impressive ceramic vase dating from the 1970s. The manufacturer is not definitively identifiable, but stylistically, the piece clearly belongs to European studio ceramics of that era. It is likely a small batch production from a small West German ceramic studio. The shape is sculptural and assertive: a bulbous body, short shoulders, two side handles, and a three-dimensional front with organic relief. The intense, vibrant orange glazing with dark inclusions gives the vase depth and character – a true centrepiece. Upcycling compatible with the item. The opening of the vase is sealed with a high-quality brass plate, the threaded rod has a brass coating, and the socket is also brass-coloured.
