We are delighted to offer for sale this sumptuous Victorian-style sofa and armchair set, very rare and large, with a barrel-shaped backrest, fully restored in hand-dyed brown leather. This is an antique pair, dating from around 1860, featuring fluted backs from the period, a spring base covered in hessian, and horsehair and hessian upholstery. The wings are very substantial, and both pieces are very sturdy, weighing approximately three times more than a modern reproduction. The feet are hand-carved in an old Georgian manor style but belong to the Victorian style. Both pieces have been fully restored, including hand-dyeing in a dark cigar brown, the hessian base covers have been replaced, and some repairs to the cushion lining and base covers have been made. The set is in good condition and ready for use; it should be noted that the backrest of the sofa has been repaired following a large tear in the leather, padded and sealed inside. The entire back panel of leather could still be replaced, but we have left it as is since it is the original skin. Sofa dimensions: Height 107 cm, Width 159 cm, Depth 83 cm. Armchair dimensions: Height 107 cm, Width 88.5 cm, Depth 93 cm. The products are available in different sizes, with lengths ranging from 88.5 cm to 159 cm, widths up to 159 cm, and uniform heights of 107 cm.
