Rustic Farmhouse Folk Art Painted Bridal Cabinet

Antique bridal wardrobe, circa 1840, from Franconia in southern Germany. A distinctive and characterful piece of furniture, painted in an exceptional ochre yellow colour with floral decorations in the panels. The simple design and painting are typical of the folk art from the region and give the wardrobe a very authentic appearance. The wardrobe has been thoroughly checked and professionally restored, with attention to originality and character. The construction is solid, the painting and patina have been preserved. The wardrobe has an original working lock and is fitted inside with a simple rod. If desired, shelves can easily be added. Old, sporadically present woodworm traces have been checked and treated. The wardrobe can be transported in two parts.
