Rare and elegant drop-front secretary from the Charles X period, made of elm burl with remarkable flame and moiré nuances. The façade, characterised by great sobriety, highlights the natural richness of the wood, typical of the refined productions of the Restoration. The drop front opens to a particularly well-appointed interior, including several mail slots, five small drawers, and a central storage space. It also reveals a writing desk lined with green leather, creating a true workspace. The lower part is fitted with storage drawers concealed behind a harmonious façade. The uprights are adorned with sculpted volute consoles, a typical detail of Charles X furniture, while the whole rests on moulded base feet. The exceptional quality of the elm burl, combined with the purity of the lines, gives this piece of furniture an elegant and warm presence.
