We present another incredible piece of furniture from our collection: this elegant and highly exquisite Biedermeier secretary desk, circa 1860. Manufactured in Northern Europe, this item was created using the method of veneering mahogany onto a frame of coniferous and deciduous woods. The desk features a stepped cornice, referred to by native Danes as 'the head of Copenhagen, ' under which lies an ornamental border with a floral motif and a practical drawer. Beneath the cornice, a rectangular lockable lid conceals six sliding, neat drawers and a shelf, ideal for storing documents and valuable jewelry. The lower section consists of three drawers. All the escutcheons are adorned with beautiful golden plates, adding to the sophistication of the piece. The cabinet is supported on four plinths, connected by a decorative wavy apron. This is a world-class piece of furniture.
