Painting representing the portrait of Madame Alberte BLANCHE DECLIE de la VALADE de TRUFFIN. Very beautifully executed in oil on wood panel. The work is dated 1937 and signed by Vital Keuller (a well-documented artist: 1866-1945). The work is sold with its important period frame (carved wood in gilded stucco, with a slight weakness that does not affect the integrity of the piece). Given the dimensions, weight, and fragility of the whole, please take into account the delivery costs. There is the possibility of collection in person (Dijon) or choosing your own carrier (please contact me beforehand). Dimensions of the panel: 68 / 88 cm, with frame: 86 / 107 cm For any further information or to request photos, please feel free to contact me directly: sylvere.carlier@neuf.fr Interesting documentation (which will be attached to the work: a copy of a letter written on the occasion of the handing over of the seal of the mayors of Dijon detailing her background and significant events in her professional career) regarding the painted model: this is Madame Alberte BLANCHE DECLIE de la VALADE de TRUFFIN, wife of Dr. BLANCHE, a couple of donors to the Dijon Museum of Fine Arts, very involved in the cultural politics of the city and an important figure in the musical world of Dijon at the time. Portrait Provenance: The painting has remained in the family until now.
