Female portrait in oil on canvas, Italy, 18th century

Oil on canvas. Venetian school of the 18th century. The portrait features the figure of a young woman wearing an everyday dress, but enhanced with a spotted fur trim; curiously, with her arm raised, she displays a fur muff slipped over one hand, likely a habit to highlight a fashion of the time. The painting shows signs of restoration, with the original canvas preserved, although it has been mounted on a new stretcher. It is presented in an oval period frame, but topped with a subsequently added wooden frieze.
