Charming painted miniature depicting a young woman with curly hair in the romantic style of the 19th century. The portrait, executed in soft bluish-grey and pink tones, is presented in a square frame made of blackened wood with a wide hollow moulding and a finely decorated inner gold surround. Signature visible to the right of the portrait. The reverse retains an old printed religious paper repurposed for the mounting, adding a beautiful patina of age. Size approximately 13 X 13 cm. Decorative work likely created around 1940-1960 in the spirit of 19th-century romantic miniatures and portraits. Overall condition satisfactory with visible wear to the frame, scuffs, small marks of time, and signs of age on the back.
