1950s painting "Budza Girl"

Portrait of a young girl, mixed media on jute combining flat areas of dyed fibres with outlines of cord, with hair made of dyed raffia. Earth tones and natural materials authentically African. The Budza are a warrior people from the north of the Congo River. The painting, from the 1950s, is part of a series of portraits offered on the site. The painting is simply framed in a black wood frame with a ribbed design, and the canvas is backed with cardboard. Frame dimensions: height 42.5 cm, width 53.5 cm, depth 2 cm.
