Orientalist portrait of an African woman by stone Alauzun 1950s

Orientalist portrait of an african woman with a bare breast. The boubou suggests that we are in west or central africa. The painter is pierre alauzun. It is little known but several works of the same type have passed through the auction rooms dated around the 50s/60s. A lovely work with this single bare breast which undoubtedly refers to the madeleine of marie guillemine benoît. The frame is in its original condition but the painting is in good condition apart from a few small stains on the canvas. The canvas measures 46x38 and the frame 58x50.
