1950s Tableau "Moluba Woman"

Portrait of a woman, mixed media on jute combining flat areas of dyed fibres with the contours of cord, dyed raffia braids, and bead necklaces. Earth tones and natural materials authentically African. The Moluba form the largest ethnic group in Congo located in Katanga. The painting is simply framed in a black wood frame with a ribbed texture, and the canvas is backed with cardboard. The painting is part of a series of portraits offered on the site.
