COD 01190. A splendid 19th-century Flemish painting. This painting oil on canvas, first canvas, depicts Christ carrying the Cross surrounded by a powerful group of penitent figures. Clearly inspired by Anton van Dyck's masterpiece, the artwork effectively echoes the Flemish master's celebrated compositional style, characterized by close-up figures and a strong emotional interplay between them.
