Pair of Syrian armchairs

A very beautiful pair of armchairs in carved, turned, openwork walnut, inlaid with mother-of-pearl set in pewter wire. The backs of the armchairs are adorned with mother-of-pearl and feature openwork mashrabiya screens with floral motifs including vases, leafy stems, jasmine flowers, and carnations. The seats are encircled with mashrabiya screens and mother-of-pearl decoration. Antique work, probably from Turkey or Syria, late 19th century. P.S.: There are a few small pieces of mother-of-pearl missing and a section of the mashrabiya is missing from one of the armchairs.
