We are delighted to offer for sale this very rare and important antique Gothic dressing table of museum quality, made from Burr & Burl walnut with large polished brass fittings. This piece is part of a suite that includes a large matching wardrobe adorned with a castle detail and an integrated chest of drawers, listed among our other items. This dressing table has the look and feel of a Gothic castle, with the wooden panels being much older than the wardrobe itself. Likely made during the Victorian era by reusing very old wood to create a more recent and usable piece. The fittings appear to date from the mid-17th century, around 1740-1760, with wood from the same period. The top features two hidden lift-up compartments on the left and right sides, probably custom-made for jewellery, and a triptych glass mirror from the period. The table has been fully cleaned, waxed, and polished; it shows signs of patina due to its age and use. Dimensions: height 164.5 cm, width 134.5 cm, depth 62.5 cm. This piece is designed to look 300-400 years old with charm and character.
