It is a piece of furniture with clothes (ishô-dansu), fittings decorated with flowers. Keyaki wood (zelkova serrata)- fully pegged. Because of its age this piece of furniture has multiple wear, shocks, scratches, small chips. Oxidized ironwork in places - retouching on the black lacquered parts. Like the vast majority of meiji furniture, the keys are lost - drawers and gates do not lock. This model appears in the city of sendai, in the early eighteenth century. It combines power, elegance oriental influence. The craftsman sought the balance of materials, combining natural wood and fittings. The warmth of the wood and the sober elegance of the metal greet each other in turn, in a beautiful balance. Very robust, does not require any restoration.
