Virgin with Child in porcelain biscuit

Ancient and very graceful religious statuette from the post-war period representing the Virgin with Child, made of beautifully thick matte white porcelain biscuit during the 1950s. This piece of sacred art and devotion stands out for the finesse of its meticulous modeling. It depicts the Holy Virgin crowned with flowers, holding the Child Jesus on her left arm, who holds the cruciferous globe in his hands. The structure rests on a cylindrical base adorned on the front with the famous raised Marian monogram "AM" (for the Latin liturgical invocation Ave Maria / Holy Mary). The reverse shows a hollow structure with an original technical opening under the base, typical of Christian statuary productions from French workshops in the second half of the 20th century. A beautiful object of devotion to complete a cabinet of curiosities.
