Old plaster statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, signed Serein, Made in France.

An old plaster statue representing Christ of the Sacred Heart, with both hands placed on the chest and a radiant golden heart at the centre of the tunic. The collar, belt, and cuffs are highlighted with a patinated golden trim. The piece is signed "Serein" in relief on the base. On the reverse of the base are the marks "CPM Déposé" and "Made in France". An object of devotion from the first half of the 20th century, as found in homes and oratories. It has been delicately cleaned without altering the material or patina and retains its period condition. Period condition preserved, with a beautiful old patina: slightly yellowed plaster, some speckles and small signs of age, wear to the polychromy (notably on the hands and cuffs), small nicks on the base. A fine line of crazing is visible on the back. See the photos, which are part of the description. Ideal for. A curiosity cabinet. Spiritual decoration, a prayer corner, or an oratory. A collection of ancient sacred art. A gift. Dimensions and weight. Height: 34 cm. Width: 12 cm. Depth: 8 cm. Net weight: 914 g. Careful shipping, protective packaging suitable for the fragility of the plaster.
