Antique Georgian Display Cabinet in Oyster Veneer circa 1780

We are delighted to offer for sale this very beautiful and important Georgian display desk from around 1780, made of oyster veneer with original candle holders. A highly decorative and significant display desk dating from the late 18th century. The frame is made of English oak finished with the finest oyster veneer inlays ever seen. The glazed top rests on a desk with multiple compartments and drawers, which in turn is set on a series of drawers; a sublime piece once in place. The item has been deeply cleaned, hand-waxed, and polished. There are signs of age-related patina and use, adding to the charm of the piece. Dimensions: Height 196 cm, Width 89 cm, Depth 46 cm. Available for collection in Pulborough. The condition is good with wear consistent with age and use, slight discolouration.
