Rare unique model of American LEDESK desk (1920s/1930s).

Magnificent American desk from the legendary LEDESK brand in a very rare model, probably made to order. Indeed, it has everything of a professional piece of furniture designed to fit into a pre-defined space with its atypical and, to say the least, crazy configuration. The upper part, very narrow, is classic with its superb walnut top, its sliding shutter with the beautiful brass lock entry stamped with the name of the LEDESK brand. It works with its original key and lock (note the absence of the small return valve on the female part of the lock, embedded in the top - not very disturbing). Inside, a small amphitheater allows you to store the courier and papers. There are two retractable pen holders too. It is the lower part that is atypical: it is made up of an American desk box that has been arranged perpendicular to the top. So the 4 drawers and the shelf open on the right side of the piece of furniture! But LEDESK hasn't neglected aesthetics, offering superb finishing uprights, all fitted or screwed together as standard, forming these beautiful curves at each end. They have thus created a space allowing you to sit like at any desk. It is fully paneled on all sides and can therefore be placed in the middle of a room. It has been restored and apart from a few signs of wear due to age, it is in excellent condition and its superb patina gives it an undeniable visual depth. I had never come across this model, which comes from a family that has always known it (bought by the grandfather many decades ago).
