Dutch scriban in marquetry, 18th century. H. 106 cm – W. 119 cm – D. 57 cm (85 cm open). Marquetry wood, gilded bronze, green felt. Two keys. Elegant Dutch scriban from the 18th century with a curved front, opening with five drawers and a drop-down revealing a charming interior with eight small drawers, five compartments, and a central locker that locks. A secret drawer completes this ingenious layout. Its marquetry decoration is of exceptional richness: geometric friezes, floral scrolls, bouquets, baskets, and ribbons unfold across the entire piece with remarkable finesse. The warm tones of the wood harmoniously contrast with the lighter shades of the floral motifs, showcasing refined cabinetmaking and perfect mastery of design. The interior features a writing surface covered in well-preserved green felt, along with delicate vegetal inlays. The sides, also decorated, highlight the quality of a piece designed to be viewed from all angles. The curved uprights rest on claw feet, typical of Dutch taste in the second half of the 18th century, in the style of Louis XVI. The original bronzes, handles, and lock entries adorned with rams complete this characterful ensemble. Overall good condition: previous restorations; restorations needed on the sides (cracks). Beautiful Dutch work from the 18th century. Certificate of authenticity. Suitable delivery.
