Important Dutch curved commode from the Louis XV period, in marquetry, dating from the 18th century. This piece of furniture is distinguished by its rich marquetry decoration featuring floral motifs and scrolls, displayed across the entire front as well as on the drop front, with a symmetrically composed design of great finesse. The drop front reveals a remarkable interior including: several small curved side drawers, also marquetried, a leather-covered writing flap, and a small central door decorated with numerous storage compartments. The front is composed of three large drawers in the belt, adorned with antique bronzes (lock entries and handles). The piece rests on curved legs, joined by a wavy crossbar embellished with a significant central sculpted decoration, typical of the Louis XV style. It has a very beautiful warm patina of the wood and well-preserved marquetry, offering a decorative quality of great excellence. Characteristics. Period: 18th century.
