Wear is consistent with age and use. Low Japanese tansu with drawers made during the Meiji period, at the end of the 19th or the beginning of the 20th century. This is a domestic storage piece designed for everyday use, intended for storing clothes, textiles, or personal items. The piece is entirely made of Japanese cedar, a lightweight and stable wood, widely used in traditional furniture for its durability. It consists of three large front drawers, providing generous and easily accessible storage space. The original metal fittings, visible on the handles and reinforcements, ensure the structure's strength and add an authentic character to the whole. The surface features a deep and sincere patina, marked by time and use, perfectly in line with its antiquity.
