Chesterfield Regency 1810 antique canapé restored in leather with a carved frame.

We offer for sale this extremely rare Regency Chesterfield sofa, fully restored, dating from around 1810, in brown tufted leather with a hand-carved walnut frame. This unique sofa has been completely restored: the frame has been stripped, the joints reinforced, and the wood cleaned and polished in the French style by a third-generation polisher. The original horsehair and spring upholstery has been preserved. The original vintage leather, kept for 40 years, has a magnificent patina. Each panel has been hand-cut and nailed with vintage solid brass nails. Dimensions at the widest point: height 88.5 cm, width 172 cm, depth 88 cm, seat height 45.5 cm. Excellent condition, complete restoration with wear consistent with age and use. This piece of furniture is a true work of art with superb carvings on the armrests and an exceptional patina on the wood.
