Hand-dyed leather Chesterfield sofa, Victorian style filled with horsehair.

We are delighted to offer for sale this original Victorian Chesterfield sofa filled with horsehair and covered in hand-dyed green leather, fully buttoned. A very elegant and well-made sofa, the upholstery appears to be the original hand-dyed leather. This model is padded with horsehair, providing a pleasant feel. It is a genuine original gentlemen's club piece with a fully coil-sprung structure, meaning that the backrest, armrests, and front edge are all equipped with springs, a rare and comfortable feature. The feet have been replaced with solid turned walnut legs, secured with 8 mm metal pins for ease of transport and installation. The sofa has been cleaned, waxed, and polished, showing patina marks from honest use and wear. The colour has beautifully faded over time, which explains the retention of the original colour, although the leather can be restored and recoloured to cigar brown or whisky for an additional charge.
