Louis XIII style two-piece recessed high wardrobe

Antique Louis XIII style two-part armoire opening with two doors and a central drawer, in walnut, with the rare feature of presenting the upper part recessed. Cornices and bases frame the two blocks, placed on ball feet. Relief decoration in the shape of cakes characteristic of the style, highlighted by numerous geometric moldings: diamonds and rectangles and cartouches with bird feather motifs to mark the frames. A key opens the two doors. Today, this piece of furniture with its glazed brown patina offers a decoration that is both sober and massive in an interior with the spirit of a "dandy's manor" or "baroque cabinet of curiosities". The testimony of the craftsmanship of our ancestors is present everywhere in the sculpture, the assembly, the manufacture of the panels.
