Victorian Cabinet in Veneered Walnut, 1890s

We present a small cabinet covered with walnut veneer, circa the third quarter of the 19th century. This single-leaf piece of furniture is placed on a rather prominent socle and features a simple cornice advanced towards the front. The door leaf is glazed and flanked by pilasters with brass appliqués shaped as herms. The front of the cabinet is intarsiated with beautiful floral motifs, and the interior is padded with velour fabric in a golden shade. The cabinet has undergone professional renovation and is finished in shellac, making it perfect for exhibiting porcelain.
