Small Showcase in Marquetry on all sides, Louis XVI style – 1920

Small all-sided display case in mahogany veneer decorated with marquetry of rosewood, light wood, rosewood and ebony. This piece of furniture has a door whose glass is surrounded by scalloped bronze rods. This door is equipped with a functional lock with ornate bronze entrance and key. The interior offers two adjustable shelves on racks. The upper crosspiece of this piece of furniture has rosewood marquetry surrounded by light wood and rosewood fillets. In the center, a geometric pattern with ebony catches the eye. The uprights of this piece of furniture are garnished with bronze scraps in the upper part and inlaid with light wood and rosewood fillets to create a trompe l'oeil effect. The lower crossbar is decorated with a bronze trim formed by a rosette and acanthus leaves. This display case rests on covered legs fitted with brass shoes.
