A small glass vase with snowy landscape decoration animated by character. Attributed to françois-théodore legras. Light enamel wear on branches. Height 13.5 cm. Ref adequantik 2212928c. François-théodore legras (1839–1916), french master glassmaker at the age of 24, he left his native vosges and worked at the glassworks of la plaine saint-denis (near paris). Three years later, he became director of the glassworks and built a new modern factory, and a workers' city, which became an industrial complex of nearly 20, 000 square meters. François-théodore legras was chairman and ceo of legras et cie, then of verrerie et cristallerie de saint-denis, for forty years. Responsible for the glassware and crystal part of the 1900 universal exhibition in paris. In 1909, he handed over the management of his company to his nephew charles legras, who was responsible for production until 1928.
