Art Nouveau brasserie mirror – Eglomisé glass – Lacquered wood – Bronze

Large horizontal mirror from a brasserie in Art Nouveau / Venetian style, with multiple assembled panels, originally intended for the decoration of a brasserie or hotel wall. The composition features an upper frieze and side panels in eglomisé glass – a technique of painting and gilding applied to the reverse of the glass – adorned with leafy scrolls, volutes, circular medallions, and floral cartouches in amber, blood red, and gold against a silvered mirror background. The main glass exhibits characteristic foxing typical of productions from the turn of the 20th century. The intersections between panels are highlighted by fine metal strips and patinated bronze floral rosettes. The outer frame is a moulded wooden frame lacquered in red with a gold fillet. Dimensions: H 102 cm – W 232 cm – Estimated weight 60 kg. Overall condition very good. No interventions mentioned; surface cleaning to be assessed upon receipt.
