Louis-Philippe period fireplace mirror, second quarter of the 19th century, entirely original. Vertical rectangular format with two rounded upper corners and two straight lower corners. Frame in gilded stucco wood, retaining its original gilding with engraved geometric patterns of diamonds and crosses around the entire perimeter, and a beaded moulding encircling the glass. Antique mercury glass showing pronounced foxing, pitting, and a veil characteristic of natural aging. Back made of raw wood boards assembled, typical of 19th-century craftsmanship. Workshop report: open cracks at both lower corners of the frame; losses of gilding revealing the red bole layer; general wear consistent with the age of the piece. Gilding work required in the areas of loss. Glass in its current state. Dimensions: H. 107 cm – W. 3 cm – Weight: 15 kg.
