Antique faux bamboo mirror featuring its original foxed mirror plate and executed entirely in the Chinoiserie style—a style highly popular during the Art Nouveau period. Originating from France, dating to the first half of the 20th century. The beautiful wooden frame has been turned and carved to resemble real bamboo—hence the term "faux bamboo"—and bears a lovely, weathered patina of age. The mirror glass shows oxidation and foxing, characteristics often found in very old mirrors.
