Important vintage decorative plate in ceramic signed ARMEN, featuring a superb design inspired by cave art and prehistoric paintings from Lascaux. The composition revolves around a large deer depicted in the centre, surrounded by various animal figures, hand silhouettes, and graphic signs evoking rock representations. Shades of brown, black, beige, green, and ochre blend on a deliberately textured and patinated background, giving the whole piece a mineral appearance reminiscent of a cave wall. The decoration combines drawn, engraved, and coloured parts and showcases the very recognisable character of ARMEN ceramics with prehistoric designs, which are sought after today for their unique aesthetic. The piece is signed "ARMEN" on the front, in the lower part of the decoration. A particularly decorative ceramic, suitable for display on a piece of furniture with a stand or to be integrated into a wall composition. It will easily find its place in a vintage, brutalist, 60s/70s interior or among a collection of 20th-century French ceramics. Dimensions: diameter 28 cm – height 3 cm. Generally good vintage condition as visible in the photographs. Variations in material, irregularities, and dark effects are an integral part of the decoration and finish of the piece.
