Handcrafted teapot in speckled stoneware, glazed in grey-green, signed.

Here is a very pretty stoneware teapot, slightly chamotte with a beautiful grey-green glaze. It is intriguing for several reasons! Firstly, because it is signed underneath the base, but I have not been able to identify the potter behind this signature. Its lines are unique and original: the body with its flying saucer shape, the spout, and its very wide diameter for a teapot... I think this is to facilitate cleaning, and that this practical detail is probably the result of feminine thought. Moreover, although one can sense a beautiful artisanal work, a professional job, there is a choice made to leave a raw side, with irregularities, turning marks, shaping marks, and a glaze of very variable thickness... The stoneware is worked in a nice thickness, even more so at the base, making this teapot solid and heavy (about 1.2 kg). All of this makes it a lovely utilitarian piece but also very decorative, a ceramic that will easily find its place in your home, whether your decor is clean, minimalist, or country chic, alone or accompanied by other ceramics. This teapot is in perfect condition, with no cracks, chips, or even a scratch. It measures 22 cm in length, about 17 cm in maximum width, and 14 cm in maximum height. And if you manage to identify the ceramic artist, I would be delighted to be in the know.
