Antique walnut chest of drawers with walnut burl.

Large French commode, late 19th century. Solid wood structure, top and sides in walnut. The front is entirely covered with walnut burl, veneer taken from a single board; symmetrical patterns. The top is not original, with cut corners at the front, made of solid walnut. 5 drawers in white wood, joined with dovetail joints. Fronts in walnut burl, with matching and aligned patterns. Bronze keyhole, with chiselled floral details. Wide base, dressed in Louis Philippe style wood. Back and bottom in panelled wood. Louis Philippe commode in very good condition, suitable for daily use. The upper lock is noted as non-functional. A key is provided. The furniture has been fully treated against insects, unaffected by them, healthy, stable, and solid. Useful interior measurements of the drawers. Width identical for all: 89 cm. Depth 43 cm.
