Antique Japanese storage box with drawers and a hinged lid, made from Japanese chestnut (Castanea crenata) and Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica), Japan, early Showa period, circa 1928. The main structure is made from Japanese chestnut, a solid and durable wood traditionally used in furniture and architecture.
