Korea chest

I lived in South Korea for 4 years where I bought this piece of furniture from a local antique dealer in 1987. The traditional piece is made up of two stacked parts, placed one on top of the other. It dates from the mid-19th century (Joseon dynasty 1392 - 1897). With its decorated fittings and significant metalwork, it is a typically Korean piece from this period with four drawers and a double-leaf door at each level, each having a typical original Korean lock. There is wear consistent with age and use. A few minor defects. The structure is sound.
