Mid-century modern vase, glass, Poland, 1970s

This vase was handmade by HSG Tarnowiec in Poland in the 1970s, representing the characteristic approach to Eastern European art glass at the end of modernism and the mid-century style. The dominant deep ruby red, maintained in a shiny, transparent finish, forms a solid, rounded body, whose dynamics are emphasized by a tall, black neck. Two distinct, round handles made of clear glass, carefully applied on the sides, contrast with the intense color of the body.
