Globe or world map, drawn up by the geographer j.forest, 17-19 rue de buci in paris, scale at 1/ 65.000.000, base in blackened wood napoleon iii, of late nineteenth period. The card is glued on a plaster support. The globe rotates on its metal axis. This globe is in very good general condition. The card has no tears, scratches or stains. There are signs of the times but nothing important. Rare in this state! Joseph forest (born 1865) was a french geographer and cartographer. In 1886, he founded his publishing house of maps and plans, world maps, globes, terrestrial and celestial spheres, paintings and wall maps for teaching at 17-19, rue de buci in paris and lives at 1, place du 13 octobre in bagneux. Suppliers of schools since 1889 and approved by the ministry of public instruction, he also proposed to his catalog a lighter globe. Appointed councillor of the foreign trade of france in 1912, whose work he regularly follows, he will be reappointed in this function in 1922. Globe diameter: 19 cm. Foot diameter: 16 cm.
