Oil painting on framed canvas. The work represents an Africanist scene and is monogrammed by Patrice Landauer (see attached bio), never presented for sale, it was acquired from the artist a few decades ago. In excellent condition, the frame is included. See photos, which are contractual (without colour or contrast retouching). Dimensions of the canvas: 38 / 46 cm, with frame: 43 / 51 cm. Brief biography: Patrice Landauer Patrice Landauer is a French painter born in 1965. Patrice Landauer has developed his style through extensive artistic studies. He trained in graphic design and book arts at the École supérieure des Arts appliqués, then followed the curriculum at Penninghem. However, it is painting that represents his true path, and he attended the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris in the painting section, in Albert Zavaro's studio. In the great tradition of travelling painters, Patrice Landauer develops a very personal body of work, contrary to all the usual currents of contemporary art. He travels through space, bringing back visionary paintings from his stays in Africa, where light dances and shimmers to highlight people and places. He joyfully depicts animals and humans, particularly in his representations of the world of horse racing. But he also travels through time, drawing on his historical cultural background for powerful inspirations. His works are populated with biplanes from the era of aviation pioneers, locomotives worthy of Gabin from La Bête humaine, or Parisian scenes from the Belle Époque. He treats his subjects with a thick and solid texture, which anchors his painting in reality and the concrete. Thanks to this powerful style, his works avoid nostalgia or anecdote; they immerse us in a very present universe, where the artist's imagination vibrates with palpable and sensitive life.
