Vintage folding screen in hard stone

We are delighted to offer for sale this vintage Chinese export folding screen made of hardstone from the 1940s, extremely well crafted and highly collectible. A truly stunning piece, beautifully made, with a lighter colour finish than usual, typically black, which brightens the room. It is finished with gold at the base, giving it a charm worthy of an emperor's palace. The main figures are all hand-carved from hardstone, expertly chosen for colour and size. This is the most beautiful example encountered, worthy of any home. The item has been carefully cleaned, hand-waxed, and hand-polished. It shows some normal marks due to age and use, as expected. Dimensions: Height 183 cm, Width 161.5 cm (each panel 40 cm), Depth 13.5 cm when folded, 2.5 cm when unfolded. This item is available for collection from our warehouses in Pulborough. The condition is good, with wear consistent with age and use, and slight discolouration.
