Large colourless glass ashtray in the Daum style, with a free, airy, and organic shape. Hand-blown, artisanally made, unique piece. Likely a prototype created by a master glassmaker or a very small production, as it has never been seen before and no references have been found, neither before nor after thorough research regarding its origins and provenance. Very rare, atypical, and unusual. A magnificent object that is exceptionally singular and surprising! Its shape, rising in three arms or blades between each cigarette support groove, is inspired by the typical fruit bowls of the French crystal manufacturer Daum. Each support groove is perfectly carved to the dimensions of standard industrial cigarettes (8.3 cm X 8 mm), allowing them to be held without falling to the bottom of the object, while being inclined, creating a graceful, majestic, and enchanting effect as the smoke from the lit cigarette rises to the centre of each arm's peaks. Extremely fine and delicate craftsmanship, astonishing functionality, manufactured to the millimetre, sure to delight the heart of a passionate romantic with gestures and movements as delicate as itself. Overall appearance gives it a gothic, sharp, and incisive quality, while maintaining a soft, fluid, and light aspect, visually suggesting the instant of clear water being vigorously struck.
