ABD Art Deco Sugar Bowl, Silver-Plated Brass, Norblin

The Art Deco sugar bowl from the Warsaw factory Norblin is an example of Polish craftsmanship from the 1920s, made of brass plated with silver. The body has a geometric rectangular shape that smoothly transitions into rounded corners, while the flat lid with a centrally placed knob emphasizes the functionality of the design. The entire piece is supported by four ball feet which, like the handle, reveal warm brass tones in places, providing subtle color accents. The matte, silvery surface bears a natural patina and traces of wear, with visible fine scratches and discolorations that give the object a historical character. The construction remains solid, without significant damage or dents. Very good condition – authentic patina highlights the sugar bowl's vintage lineage. The shape of this sugar bowl carries the voice of the 1920s, when geometry and functionality acquired a new dimension in Polish design. The simplicity of lines and harmony of proportions evoke the atmosphere of pre-war Warsaw, where the simplicity of form represented modernity. The matte silver and warm glimmers of brass tell stories of tables where both utility and subtle decoration were valued – without excessive ornamentation, yet with attention to every detail. The sugar bowl can be showcased on a classic console or display cabinet, where its cool shine contrasts with natural wood or glass. It suits arrangements inspired by the Art Deco movement, modernism, or eclectic collector interiors. It is worth pairing it with porcelain of simple lines, glass or crystal to highlight its geometric discipline and vintage character. Surrounded by minimalist accents or other silver-plated vessels from the era, the Norblin sugar bowl becomes a subtle yet distinctive accent in the collection.
