Flamant Mid-Century table lamp, Swiss German by Max Bietenholz, 1960s

Vintage design. Mid-century table lamp by Max Bankenholz. Here in the version with a white shade. The lamp is almost identical to the Flamingo table lamp from the German manufacturer Bur Leuchten. Cubic shapes run through this design, from the shade to the joint and down to the base plate. The most distinctive detail of these designs is the fine perforation of the shades. A long, rectangular support breaks the light that escapes and dissolves the cubic shape of the shade when lit. The vertical stem is not mounted in the centre of the base plate, but in one corner of the plate. Joints on the shade and arm allow for countless adjustments. With this lamp, there is even parchment as a diffuser behind the perforation. The condition is remarkably very good.
