We are delighted to offer this superb carver chair in burgundy leather and mahogany from Spencer House, built for the Spencer family between 1756-1766 for John, the first Earl Spencer, currently inhabited by Charles Spencer, the 9th Earl Spencer. This chair is part of a small suite with a pair of visitor chairs, a unique visitor chair, and a carver desk chair. This chair has been deeply cleaned, waxed, and hand-polished from top to bottom. The dimensions are Height: 97 cm, Width: 63 cm, Depth: 61.5 cm, Seat Height: 47.5 cm. Please note that all measurements are taken at the widest point. Please refer to the detailed photos, which are an integral part of the condition description. Vintage period items like this one exhibit a natural patina with creases and wear. Annual waxing is recommended to preserve moisture. The hand-dyed leather should not be exposed to direct sunlight for long periods as it may dry out and discolour.
